The Alliston 734 Cadets is an aviation-focused organization dedicated to preparing youth to be engaged citizens of Canada. Our mission is to promote and encourage the nation’s youth to develop and maintain an interest in aviation, leadership, and citizenship, in partnership with the Canadian Armed Forces and other organizations.

Our mandate includes:

Enhancing youth knowledge of aerospace and aviation through educational programs and resources.
Fostering engaged citizenship by providing leadership, communication, volunteer opportunities, and access to awards and scholarships.
Collaborating with the Canadian Armed Forces to support the Royal Canadian Air Cadet program.

Squadron Sponsoring Committee

The Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) is the locally based element of the Air Cadet League of Canada – Ontario Provincial Committee (OPC). The SSC’s primary responsibility is to manage and control all aspects of the Squadrons budgeting, finances, and fundraising activities. Together with the Squadron’s Commanding Officer, the SSC supports the delivery of the Air Cadet Program in our community.

The Air Cadet Program is a partnership between the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Air Cadet League of Canada. In general, the DND is responsible to conduct the training program, supervise all cadet activities, and oversee and direct administrative management of each squadron. The Air Cadet League of Canada is responsible for screening Civilian Volunteers, fundraising, finding quarters for the squadron, and financial management. At the squadron level, the partnership is embodied by the relationship of the SSC Chairperson and the Commanding Officer.

The Squadron Sponsoring Committee is looking for interested parents/guardians to assist. All parents, guardians, stakeholders in the community and unit are welcome to join. Please email 734air@cadets.gc.ca with your contact info and it will be forwarded to the SSC Chair. The SSC is responsible for assisting the Squadron with key operations, including fundraising!
